NOT SCRAP BOOKS BUT JOY BOOKS!

Cynthia, a wonderful person who saw me speak several years ago at a Creative Memories conference has been showing me lovely examples of her work! While we were email ‘chatting’ recently, I came up with the idea of JOYbooks , not scrap books! I wondered where that term scrapbooks came from as what we usually put into them are not scraps but precious memories! Then I thought how great it would be if we created photo albums devoted to all the joyful moments in our lives. So here is an invitation to start a sub group of joybookers!

Look up Cynthia Dalton Rogers on Facebook and ask to be her friend and start the first virtual group if joybookers! A Joy Journal is planned for the not too distant future so you can write about your own joy journey in a beautiful yellow leather bound book with an embossed butterfly on it!

What if you compiled a joybook for your children – starting when they were toddlers or babies!

Imagine what fun the family could have if you had a monthly family meeting devoted to adding new stories, images and anything that created joy to your family joybook! While they are little it would be easy – and if they were used to it, maybe as teenagers they would not think that you were more pathetic than they originally thought! LOL

Anyway – I would love to hear your ideas on joybooks and creating them – perhaps it’s one way of spreading joy in your community and creating your own little joy tribe but starting a joybook club in your neighbourhood! Or amongst your friends. Maybe you can make joybooks for others and give them as gifts? Who knows – it takes a village to raise a child as an African proverb says – and I just think it might take a global village to bring more joy into the world!
