SATURDAY: HEART GRATITUDE
“It isn’t what you have in your pocket that makes you thankful, but what you have in your heart.”
Anonymous
Do we really have any idea of the truly immense nature of our hearts?
People think the brain is the most important organ in the body but it’s not. The heart rules the rest of the body and the Institute of Heart Math has scientific evidence of that. (Visit www.heartmath.com. It is a wonderful organization, teaching people how to appreciate their hearts and how to change their lives by paying attention to the heart.)
The heart is not just a pump that circulates your blood. Your heart is your world! It’s the way you connect to God. Your heart is what connects you to others. It, not your brain, is the seat of your innate intelligence. It is your source of intuition, inspiration, love and life. It is an alchemical vessel.
Today is your day to spend time with your heart. It breaks; it hurts; it feels; it thinks; it constantly sends messages to the rest of your body orchestrating everything. It is the conductor of a magnificent symphony—you. And yet in our busy, rushed lives, we rarely stop and take time to tune into our hearts—to give them a chance to whisper to us.
Bless your heart today, thank it, listen to it, and through it. It is very wise, but it often speaks very softly—you have to listen carefully.
If we regularly take time to listen to our hearts, we can be aware of a feeling or sense of truly knowing whether something is right or not.
I experienced this on the day of my first marriage. I remember walking down that aisle knowing I was doing the wrong thing. And it did not last, although it was part of my journey and I am grateful for the lessons it taught me.
It has taken me many years to learn to listen to, and through, my heart and I still have a long way to go. Studying courses called “Sacred Service” and “Spirit Healing” (http://www.spiritualschool.org) has helped me a great deal. Both courses are well worth looking into for those of you interested in really finding your heart, joy, peace and being of service to the world.
Find your heart today. Listen to it. Listen through it. Bless it. Thank it. Keep talking to it and listening for its guidance with everything.
Today and tomorrow could be the days that change your life!
